Mariners' Church exists to proclaim glory to God and grace to man by Knowing the Truth, Growing in community and Going to serve.

We are an evangelical, non-denominational, Christ-centered church in the Annapolis, MD area. Our commitment over our eleven years of existence has been to spread the message of God’s Grace in Jesus Christ for the glory of God. We believe that message changes lives.

At our Sunday services we offer
contemporary worship, expositional Biblical preaching, quality nursery and children's ministries. Our commitment on Sundays is to help people KNOW THE TRUTH of God’s Word.

During the week we offer
small groups that meet in homes throughout the Annapolis Community. Our commitment during the week is to help people GROW IN COMMUNITY, to build significant friendships around the study of the Sunday sermon.

Our goal is see people transformed from selfishness to servanthood. We want people to discover true joy by helping them
GO TO SERVE in the area of their giftedness.

Out commitment is to build people up in the faith, hope and love that can only be found in Jesus Christ.

The Mission of Mariners' Church is:
“To proclaim grace to man and glory to God by helping people know the truth, grow in community, and go to serve.”
WHAT WE BELIEVE
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These are co-equal and are one God. Genesis 1:1,26,27,3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; I Peter 1:2; II Corinthians 13:14.

ABOUT JESUS CHRIST
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sin of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven's glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Matthew 1:22, 23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1: 1-5, 14: 10-30; Hebrews 4: 14, 15; I Corinthians 15:3,4; Romans 1:3,4; Acts 1:9-11; I Tim 6:14-15; Titus 2:13.

ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father, and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved. As Christians we seek to live under His daily control. II Corinthians 3: 17; John 16:7-13; 14:16, 17; Acts 1:8; I Corinthians 2:12,3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:18.

ABOUT THE BIBLE
The Bible is God's Word to us.
It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because God inspires it; it is truth without any mixture of error. II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20,21; II Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119: 105, 160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5.

ABOUT MAN
We believe that man was created in the image of God and though he was made for fellowship with God, the first man sinned, and thereby incurred the judgment of death, which occurred in him first spiritually (he was separated from God), which leads to physical death, which can lead to eternal death. All men are born with a sin nature and all are sinners in thought, word and deed. The great need of sinful men is to be restored to fellowship with God.
Romans 3:23,5:12; Psalm 51:5. Ephesians 2:1.

ABOUT SALVATION
We believe that God, in His sovereign grace and in His eternal purpose, has chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified and accepted on the basis of His shed blood. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ arose from the dead on the third day, according to the Scriptures; that He ascended into Heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God as the believer's High Priest and Advocate. We believe that salvation is God's free gift to us, but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin's penalty. When we turn from the self-ruled life to Jesus in faith, we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
Ephesians 1:4; I Cor 15:3; II Cor 5:21; Romans 5:9; Mark 16:1-14; Acts 1:9-11; Hebrews 1:3; 4:14; 7:25; I John 2:1-2; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6; 1: 12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:
1.

ABOUT ETERNITY
People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. John 3: 16; John 14:17; Romans 6:23; Romans 8:17-18; Revelation 20:15;
I Cor 2:7-9.

What is a Mariner?

A mariner is someone who is guided by the use of a compass. Our compass is the Word of God. Mariners’ Church exists to help people become all that God has created them to be, by bringing them into contact with the love of Jesus Christ through the message of His Word.

A mariner is also a person on a mission. We have been given the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to rescue those who are lost in the darkness of this world and to bring them to salvation from sin and eternal life that can only be discovered in the light of Jesus Christ.

Our prayer is that you sense His love for you in every aspect of our ministry and that you become mariners with us by joining us in this exciting journey in which many lives are being transformed for the glory of God.

Membership Ministry Mission - Creating an atmosphere of warmth & personal acceptance, providing a safe and clean environment for people to take their next step towards Christ.

Our vision is to help make a big place small. Mariners' Church certainly is a big place! But hundreds of people have found that they can become part of a true spiritual family as they follow God´s plan for developing relationships. Please take just a moment to look through our site to see where we can help you along your spiritual journey.

We help people to take their first spiritual steps after becoming a follower of Jesus Christ through the following ministries:

BAPTISM: It´s our privilege to serve people who want to express their commitment to Christ publicly through water baptism. (Acts 2:41)

NEW MEMBER CLASS: Introduction to our Church Family. This is where most people have their first chance to learn about Mariners' and what it means to become part of our church family. A clear presentation of the Gospel is given and the vision and mission of Mariners' Church is clearly presented along with an explanation of the Membership Covenant.

MEMBERSHIP: After completing the requirements for membership (Accepting Jesus Christ as savior, being baptized, completing the NEW MEMBER CLASS, and signing the Membership Covenant), having an interview with one of our pastors, people join our church family. (Eph. 2:19) It is our joy to welcome new members into the Mariners' family. We do this by sending them a signed Certificate of Membership containing the Covenant which all Mariners' Church members abide by.

Once people have joined our church family, we offer many different ministries to help make a big place small. This is where people begin to connect with their church family, deepen their relationships, and change their lives!

SMALL GROUPS: There are currently more than 245 people meeting regularly in over 26 small groups throughout our community (Acts 5:42) . These groups are organized as follows: Men, Women, Singles, and Couples.

SMALL GROUP LEADER & COACH TRAINING: We offer regular training to the small group leaders and coaches at Mariners'. Our goal is to equip these leaders to shepherd the people entrusted to their care. (Ps. 78:72)
NEW MEMBER CLASS: Basic Introduction

You were designed to be a part of a church family. And that's exactly what Mariner's Church is intended to be - your family. That's why at Mariner's we want to share with you what we believe and where we're going.

Our NEW MEMBER CLASS is the basic introduction to our church family designed to clearly explain who and what our church is. This is a great opportunity to learn about Mariner's Church, get to know others, and have a free meal as well (dinner's on us).

You don't have to become a member to attend it - it's just for your information. We'll explain what we believe, how we operate, and the history of our church. We'll answer your questions, share information about our church, and how you may become a member. At the end of the CLASS there will be an opportunity for you to decide whether to complete the process and become a member or wait and decide at another time. No pressure whatsoever, we want you to be comfortable with whichever you choose to do.

If you have children between the ages 0 through 11, we have a program for them while you're in the NEW MEMBER CLASS (pre-registration is necessary for this).

Come join us in NEW MEMBER CLASS, find out what we're all about.
Changes Lives!

NEW MEMBER CLASS Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How long is the CLASS?
4 ½ hours, beginning at 3:00 and lasting until 7:30pm, with a dinner being served at approximately 5:00pm

Q: What if at the end of the NEW MEMBER CLASS I don't know if I want to become a member yet? That's fine, you can make that choice, this is a personal decision we suggest you give prayerful consideration and is between you and God.

Q: What if I have already been baptized by immersion after I committed my life to Christ, do I have to be re-baptized to become a member?
Not necessarily, you may be baptized again here at Mariners', the best thing to do would be to contact our Baptism Team and share with them the information regarding your baptism.

Q: I was baptized at another church by sprinkling, does that count?
One of the membership requirements is being baptized by immersion. Jesus was baptized by immersion, every baptism in the Bible was by immersion and the word baptize literally means "to dip into water".

Q: Since the class is so long, will there be a dinner break?
Yes, approximately half way through the class we will break and be served dinner.

Q: Is there child care available?
Yes, there is a Children's Program available for ages 0 thru 11 (pre-registration is necessary)
